Questions

• In Genesis 4:3-5 how did Cain shortchange God?  How have you shortchanged God?
• What is the quality of time you spend with God?
• Is there a behavior that you need to stop doing? On the flipside, is there a behavior you need to start doing?
• In Genesis 4 we see that Cain had a choice, what are some of the choices you have in your daily life? How can these be made for God? What consequences will there be?
• Tonight Mike talked about how our attitudes determines our actions.  What attitudes do you need to change?

Mike began a new series tonight called Worst-Case Scenario: How to Survive Life’s Relationships.

Mike’s Notes:

• Main Idea: We are designed to be in relationship
• Three Relationship Realities: God’s Image, God’s Presence, God’s Intimate Relationship

Questions:

• How cool is it that Adam walked in the garden with God?  Talk to your friend or think to yourself about what you would do.
• Do your relationships work better with God present? How so?
• How can you be “all there” in a situation/conversation?
• “Complete vulnerability and no shame”, is this the description of your relationship with God? Do you tell him everything or do you try to hide it?
• Are there people you are not being real with that you should be? Who are those you can confide in; those you can trust?  I.e. Dad, Mom, pastor, sibling, friend, etc…
• Pray

We’re extending the “Goin’ All the Way” series one more week.  We ended up changing our format a little last Wednesday and didn’t get to Guys-Only and Girls-Only times.  So this week we’ll challenge the guys and girls, as well as give you the chance to ask your questions in a safe setting.  See you Wednesday at 6:30!

Tonight we began a new series titled David’s House of Vinyl.  Mike talked about David’s persecution from Saul out of Psalm 59 and 1 Samuel 19:8-18.

From what we learned tonight, what is your place of refuge; your safety?  Maybe your safety is being at home, your parents, your best friend, boyfriend/girlfriend, etc.  What is it for you personally?

What was the place of refuge that David went to in these passages?  He went to God.  Is God a place of refuge/safety for you?  Do you run to him and ask him for help in times of trouble, or do you try to help yourself?  If no, why is it hard for you to go to him? Discuss this with a friend or pray to God about this.  Take time to think about it before moving on to the next question.

In your life what are some ways that you are persecuted?

How do you respond when you are persecuted?

Take time to re-read Psalm 59:1-17 and look at how David reacts to each situation.
